Alan Rogers Review of Camping Ile de la Comtesse
A family run, lakeside site with a new swimming pool complex. There are 55 medium to large, level grassy touring pitches, all with 6A electricity (long leads may be required) and 45 mobile homes, chalets and tents for hire. Most are separated by low hedges and tall poplar trees offer some shade. Many have views over the lake and craggy hills beyond. High season activities are aimed mainly at younger children and the family. Fishing, sailing, canoeing and bathing are possible on the lake that borders the site. There is plenty of space around the lake for leisure activities, including marked walks and cycle trails. No twin-axle caravans.
The site is well placed for touring the beautiful region of the Upper Rhône Valley and the Alpes. The spa towns of Chambery and Aix-les-Bains, on Lac du Bourget are within 25 km. and certainly worth a visit. It is easy to organise a day out exploring the region around the site, and the many organised activities.
Facilities at Camping Ile de la Comtesse
Traditionally styled toilet block with all the necessary facilities, including those for babies and accessible facilities. Motorhome services. Small bar/snack bar with takeaway and small shop (all from 15 May). Large marquee used for TV and organised activities. Heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools. Daily programme of activities for young children and the family in high season. Bicycle hire. Max. one dog per unit. Free WiFi.

From the A43 (Lyon-Chambery) autoroute, take exit 10 and go north on D592 for 10 km. After crossing the lake turn right on the D992 and site is shortly on the right at the roundabout.
