Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Tuque
The Quercy region of southwest France is renowned for its sunny climate and attractive terrain, ranging from the dry Causse landscape to the lusher Lot valley and vineyards of Cahors. La Tuque extends over 22 acres, close to the pretty village of Bélaye. The 76 touring pitches are large (some to 120 sq.m) and well shaded. Unusually, except for loading and unloading, cars are not allowed in the camping area, and large parking areas are provided at the entrance. This is a good centre for an active holiday – walking, mountain biking, canoeing and rock climbing are all possible and the site also has a large swimming pool and three water slides, as well as a separate children’s pool.
Other sports amenities here include a tennis court and an 18-hole mini golf course. During the high season children’s entertainment is organized as well as various other family activities. The medieval village of Puy l’Evêque is a gem, and Prayssac is also worth a trip, with its bustling weekly market and pretty shops.

Fridge hire. Mobile homes, Safari Lodge and tents to rent. No charcoal barbecues. Bicycle hire. WiFi in bar area (free).
Directions to Camping la Tuque
From north on A20 motorway take exit 57 (Cahors). Follow signs to Cahors and join D820. On D820, travel through built up area to southern edge of Cahors, then at roundabout take D653 for 10 km. Turn right onto D656 through Sauzet. After 7 km. turn right onto D50 towards Belaye. Site on left in 4 km.
