Alan Rogers Review of Camping de l’Ayguette
This friendly, family run site is in the beautiful region of northern Provence, surrounded by vineyards and wooded hills. There are 99 slightly sloping, stony pitches, with 75 for touring, widely spaced out on terraces amongst pine and oak trees giving plenty of dappled shade, and all have 10A electricity (long leads and rock pegs necessary) and Europlugs. Some are a considerable distance from the amenities, so not ideal for those with walking difficulties. This spacious campsite is ideal for rest and relaxation and it makes an ideal base for touring this very interesting region.
There is a bar, snack bar, small shop and terrace. Nearby is an attractive swimming pool (heated all season) and a sunbathing area. There is some low key entertainment once a week and some children’s activities in July and August, but the emphasis is on a quiet and peaceful site. Visit the many medieval towns and perched villages with their markets and châteaux, and try the wines for which this region is famous. A good site for exploring on foot, by bicycle or car.

Two well equipped toilet blocks, one heated. Accessible Room doubles as family bathroom with young children. Washing machines. Motorhome services. Snack bar/takeaway (1/6-30/8). Bar, small shop with bread to order. Outdoor heated swimming pool with terrace. Volleyball. Badminton. Multisports pitch. Playground. Occasional entertainment, some activities for children. Free WiFi in bar. Only gas and electric barbecues.
Directions to Camping de l’Ayguette
From D938, about 1 km. north of Vaison la Romaine, turn right at roundabout onto D71, signed St Romaine, for 2.8 km. Turn right on D86, entrance to site is on right in 1 km.
