Le Campéole Plage des Tonnelles is an extensive site (25 hectares) located on land belonging to the French forestry commission and close to the popular resort of Saint Jean-de-Monts. The site has direct access to a superb sandy beach and is divided by a road. It also has a good sized heated swimming pool. The 230 touring pitches, most with electricity (6A) and of a reasonable size. A few are on uneven ground. A range of chalets, fully equipped bungalow tents and mobile homes are available for rent including some models specially adapted with accessible facilities. The site has a small bar and snack bar (July/Aug) just along the road.

There is also a small supermarket and a large bar and restaurant close by. The site can become quite lively in high season with a daily children’s club and a wide range of daytime activities and evening entertainment, including concerts and discos in a large marquee. However, touring pitches are well scattered on this vast site, so it should be possible to ask to be located well away from these events if desired. A number of cycle tracks pass through the woods close to the site (cycle hire available). Saint Jean is a well equipped resort with dozens of restaurants, cafés and other attractions.

Four sanitary blocks serve each section of the site. Two have been attractively refurbished to a very high standard with modern preset showers, washbasins in cubicles, and excellent facilities for babies, children and accessible facilities. Laundry. Motorhome services. Direct beach access. Bar, snack bar and takeaway (July/Aug). Heated swimming pool and paddling pool (1/6-13/9, supervised July/Aug). Bicycle hire. Archery (July/Aug). Multisports court. Minigolf. Trampoline. Bouncy castle. Snack bar adjacent (July/Aug). Play area. Activities and entertainment programme (July/Aug). WiFi (charged) in reception. Only gas or electric barbecues permitted.

St Jean-de-Monts is 55 km. northwest of La Roche-sur-Yon. The site is 6 km. north of St Jean-de-Monts on the D38 towards Notre Dame-de-Monts. Turn west at the roundabout at Les Tonnelles where site is signed and is on right in 300 m.
