Calabria was immortalized in the drawings of Edward Lear who, travelling on a donkey in 1847, was transfixed by the landscape. Camping Pineta di Sibari is on the Ionian Sea coast and provides 500 touring pitches under pine and eucalyptus trees. Most are of average size and many have sea views. The large sandy beach stretches for miles in both directions and the backdrop is the mountains of the Pollino National Park. This is a rural area and is away from the industrial areas found further south along this coast. Karin Rudolph runs a happy site where peace and quiet are prime features.

Ty-Nadan is a well organised site set amongst wooded countryside along the bank of the River Elle. The 183 pitches for touring units are grassy, many with shade and 99 are fully serviced.

Close to the sea, Bois Soleil is a large site in three parts, with 165 serviced pitches for touring units and a few for tents. All the touring pitches are hedged, and have electricity, with water and drainage between two.

The 26 hectare estate has three lakes, two for fishing and one with a sandy beach and safe swimming area. There are 135 good sized touring pitches, level, terraced and hedged.
