Alan Rogers Review of Cayton Village Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Cayton Village Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is just three miles from the hustle and bustle of Scarborough, it is a peaceful, attractive haven. Originally just a flat field with caravans around the perimeter, years of hard work have produced a park which is well designed and very pleasing to the eye with quality facilities. The 205`pitches are spread over 2 separate areas and include 160 hardstanding, 6 tents and 39 serviced hardstanding all with electricity. The late arrivals area also has electrical hook-ups and a water point - this is useful as the gates are locked at night and anyone leaving early is also expected to use it, so as not to disturb others.

A short walk across a field takes you to Cayton Village which has a popular pub providing excellent meals, a post office, village store and a church, and Cayton Bay is half a mile. The North York Moors are a short distance away, as is the Forestry Commission’s Dalby Forest with its scenic drive, mountain bike trails and way-marked walks. The site is just 1/2 mile from Cayton Bay, with its sandy beach and rock pools to explore has also been voted one of the best areas in the country for surfing, it is also dog friendly all year around. We are just 3 miles from Scarborough, which has 2 beautiful beaches and only 4 miles from Filey which has the Brigg to the North end which is wonderful for wildlife, fishing and exploring the rock pools then turns into a lovely sandy beach all the way to Bempton Cliffs. (please note that there are some restrictions for dogs in summer)
