Camping in Rhône-Alpes, located in the South-East of France, north of the Riviera is a prime destination for camping and caravanning. The Rhone Valley is an area of area of natural beauty, from the sun-baked Drôme to the isolated mountains of the Vercors and the deep gorges of the Ardèche. Lovers of art and culture are drawn to the region’s ‘Villes d’Art’: Lyon, Annecy, Grenoble, Chambéry and Saint Etienne when camping.
The Rhône-Alpes gastronomy, championed by chefs Bocuse, Blanc and Orsi, is noted for its cheese and traditional dishes like rosette and fondue. Rhône Valley wines include Beaujolais and Côtes-du-Rhône appellations.
