Pembury Country Park Caravan and Motorhome Club site is set on the edge of the 520-acre country park. It enjoys a wonderful location with a vast range of outdoor activities, including the use of a seven-mile stretch of safe, sandy beach a mile away. Well sheltered, the site is set in 12-acre grounds and provides 125 touring pitches, of which 69 are on hardstanding and 12 are serviced for caravans and motorhomes. All are equipped with 16 amp electricity. Thoughtful landscaping has included the planting of many species of trees and a circular, one-way tarmac road provides easy access. Sensibly placed service points provide fresh water and waste disposal of all types. RAF jets do practise in this area (although becoming less frequent and generally not flying at the weekend). Tents are not accepted. No arrivals before 1.00pm.
Freshwater East Caravan and Motorhome Club site is located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The site is flanked by trees on one side with a mix of grass and hardstanding tiered pitch areas to choose from. There is a total of 142 pitches (some seasonal), 11 are serviced, 48 grass and the rest are hardstanding all with 16 amp electricity hook-ups. The beach and the Pembroke Coastal Path are just a few minutes’ walk. This is an excellent area for walking with magnificent cliff views and birdwatching. You will find Saint David’s, the smallest cathedral city, well worth a visit. No arrivals before 1.00pm.
You can sit back relax and watch the red kites soaring above, however this Club site assume to its close proximity to the coast and quaint little bays means swimming and water sports could be filling up much of your holiday time here. A peaceful meadowland site, you'll feel positively tiny amongst the vast open areas and wondrous views towards the coast. The site has 48 pitches, mainly hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) all with 16 amp electricity. no arrivals before 1.00pm.
St David's Lleithyr Meadow Caravan and Motorhome Club site is nestled between three headlands of the dramatic Pembrokeshire Coast. It offers swimming, surfing, windsurfing and sailing from Whitesands Bay, just over a mile from the site. Anglers can fish in the reservoirs or the sea. Dedicated to the outdoor lover, the site encourages you to explore the rich, luscious surroundings. The site has 115 grass pitches (some seasonal), all with 16 amp electricity. In the unlikely event of boredom at the site's Whitesands location, daily trips are available to Ramsey from St Justinians and Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm from Martin's Haven (about 20 miles down the coast from the site). No arrivals before 1.00pm. The site has 113 grass pitches.
Midfield Holiday & Residential Park is a small family-run site and is situated on a hilltop overlooking Aberystwyth, with uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, town, Cardigan Bay and the Rheidol Valley. It is just over a mile from the railway station, town and Beach. It is well placed as a touring centre, surrounded as it is by the beautiful countryside of mid-wales.
Centrally situated for southwest Wales, Noble Court is a family owned park with good facilities. The neat entrance sets the standards for the park which is part caravan holiday homes (60) and part touring. Arranged over four hedged fields, each one at a slightly lower level, with an additional tenting field, the last has lovely views over the rural Welsh countryside. All 92 touring pitches have electricity; 25 on grass terraces have waste water connection, fresh water supply and 16A electricity, and the others are mainly on gravel-based hardstanding.
This superb family run park has a number of attributes to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. There are stunning views over Carmarthen Bay to the Gower and beyond to the coast of Somerset and North Devon. At night no fewer than seven lighthouses can be seen blinking out their warnings. A touring field provides 55 well spaced, large touring pitches all with 16A electricity, 21 with gravel hardstanding and most fully serviced. An new attractive playground is in the central open grass area. There are 60 pitches for tents in an adjoining paddock with 31 electricity hook-ups (10A).
Aeron Coast is a family holiday park with a wide range of recreational facilities, on the west coast of Wales. Although it has a high proportion of caravan holiday homes (200 privately owned), touring units of all types are provided for in two fields separated from the beach and sea by a high bank (although the best beach is on the south side of this traditional fishing village). Pitches are on level grass with all units regularly and well spaced in lines in traditional style. The main attraction of the park is its excellent provision for families, both in and out of doors.
Cardigan Bay Camping & Caravanning Club site is near the attractive beaches of the Welsh coast, especially at Mwnt, which are easily explored from the site which is near New Quay. You can see red kites as a result of successful conservation from here and you may be lucky enough to see dolphins off the coast. The area is a nature lover's paradise and there are numerous attractions for all the family. Head to New Quay Bay to watch the fishing boats bring home their catch and then buy it fresh from the fish stall.
Tything Barn Naturist Campsite is set in a 23 acre old quarry on the Milford Haven estuary amongst salt marshes. It is in a most beautiful location, very peaceful, totally unspoilt and has many hidden secluded pitches. The atmosphere is very informal and relaxed, a real place to get away from the modern world with small lakes and stream’s on-site as well as the estuary to explore. Although a ‘Naturist Site’, dress code is optional and there is no obligation to get back to nature - all are very welcome. The site owners and creators June & Joe have semi-retired and the site is managed by Fran & Dan. You will receive a very warm welcome from both owners and managers who are there to help and assist to make your holiday a success. A large open plan field accommodates 40 well-spaced tents/caravans/motorhomes grass pitches, 30 have 6A electricity. Readers who have ventured to enjoy some of the naturist sites featured in our France guide or Southleigh Manor in Cornwall may be intrigued to visit Tything Barn.
A secluded, rural, family run park with a nice atmosphere and new owners, Pantglas Farm is four miles from the coast with extensive views over rolling countryside and down to the sea. Set in three gently sloping paddocks spread over 14 acres, there are 83 generously sized, fairly level touring pitches, all with 10A electricity, and on gravel hardstanding. A further three fields, without electricity, are reserved for tents. This is a popular and attractive site close to the main resorts but enjoying a more tranquil atmosphere.
Moreton Farm has been developed in a secluded valley, a 10-20 minute walk from Saundersfoot and four miles from Tenby. It provides 36 caravan pitches (all with 10A electricity, including 22 fully serviced hardstanding pitches) plus 24 tent pitches on two sloping, neatly cut grass fields. There are 12 pine holiday lodges and four cottages to rent occupying another field. The site is approached under a railway bridge (height 10 ft. 9 ins, width across the top 6 ft. 6 ins, but with alternative access over the railway line for slightly larger vehicles just possible). There are a few trains during the day, none at night. This is a quiet family site.
Folly Farm Holiday Park could be just the place for you if your ears prick up at the idea of being next to a top-rated zoo. Pitching up here can save a pretty penny, too: guests at the park who buy a ticket to the zoo qualify for unlimited entry to all Folly Farm's attractions throughout their stay. The well-maintained and spacious grounds make a handy base for all manner of stays, strolls along the Welsh Coast Path, and surf lessons in Saundersfoot or offshore jaunts to Caldey Island are all within easy reach.
The Davies family has developed an attractively landscaped, part wooded holiday home park in the picturesque location of West Wales. A neat, well cared for, sheltered area at the top of the park provides 29 touring pitches, accessed via a tarmac road. All are on shingle hardstanding with 16A electricity. A sunken, kidney shaped outdoor pool with landscaped surrounds and sunbeds is a focal point. The Coracles Health and Country Club provides an indoor pool, spa, sauna and steam rooms and fitness suite (reduced rates for campers). It also provides a bar with pizzas, an adult only lounge and a large function room where live entertainment is organised during the main season. Everything is of a high quality. Nestling in the valley of the River Gwili, River View is an attractive, quiet and friendly park made up of three fields: one by the river which is kept for adults only and two on a plateau up a steep slope on the opposite side of the lane. Particular care has been taken to protect the natural environment. There are 60 level, generously sized pitches, all with 16A electricity, 44 have hardstanding and 12 are fully serviced. This is a popular rural retreat for young families and older couples. The park is close to the end of the M4. This allows easy access and there is plenty to do or see in the near vicinity, including castles, gardens, beaches, wildfowl reserves and a water park.
Set in 20 acres of Welsh countryside, Springwater offers a selection of fishing lakes to keep even the keenest of anglers occupied. However, it is not just anglers who will enjoy this site – it is a lovely base to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this part of Wales. Springwater offers 40 spacious, flat pitches either on grass or 30 gravel hardstanding, all with 16A electricity and ten fully serviced pitches, plus ten tent pitches. Malcolm and Shirley Bexon are very proud of their site and welcome all visitors with a smile. This is not a site for children unless they enjoy fishing (no play areas). This peacefully located and beautifully manicured, garden-like park is ideal for couples and families, and is a convenient base within easy reach of beaches or for touring the local area. Creampots has 62 spacious, level pitches all with 10A electric hook-ups, including 21 with gravel hardstanding, and ten pitches for tents. There is a separate field and an overflow area taking 32 tents for the August peak holiday time. This is an ideal location for the local attractions.
Tudor Glen is located in the beautiful coastal area of Pembrokeshire, only 2 miles away from the popular surfing Manorbier beach. The site, run by the same family for over 30 years, is a family run caravan park for families, catering for tourers, motorhomes and tents. Situated in a semi-rural location on the edge of the village of Jameston, access is easy and directly off the A4139. All the 36 touring pitches are numbered with electricity available, grass and hardstanding pitches. If you have a large caravan or motorhome, please let the site know when you make your booking so they can accommodate you. This site is on a slope so levelling blocks are required on some pitches. As the roads are gravel, this may make wheelchair access difficult; scooters with wider wheels would cope better. There is also a separate area with mobile homes.
Brynawelon Touring & Camping Park is a friendly, attractive and well-appointed campsite. It is in a stunning rural location within two miles of the Ceredigion coast with its beaches, and close to the River Teifi with plenty of water-based activities.
South Cockett is an attractive and well maintained park which is personally run by the James family (Stephen, Esme and Will). The park provides 70 caravan pitches, all with electricity and 20 tent pitches, some with electricity. They are all grass (no hardstandings) and laid out over five separate areas which are separated by high, well maintained hedges. There is, however, no separation between pitches and very little shade. A bus service to Broad Haven and Haverfordwest is only 300 yards from the site. A well stocked shop can be found in nearby Broad Haven along with its Blue Flag beach.
West Wales
Much of Ceredigion’s 50 mile coast is designated a Heritage Coast and boat trips offer the opportunity to view this rugged coastline and get up close to its wildlife. Pembrokeshire, with it’s famous National Park, is the home of Dylan Thomas, old castles, and attractive countryside. Carmarthenshire is home to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
